In the world of giftedness no two people are the same and as such I tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of each individual. Whether you or your child are struggling with perfectionism, anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, help with realizing your or his/her potential and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way. My practice specializes in treating individuals, couples and families and I offer comprehensive services dealing with issues related to giftedness:

Your child is gifted, or you are suspecting that your child is gifted and you need support with your child’s behavior. Do You feel that you have tried all the possible advices that were given to you? are you exhausted, irritated all the time? You have made the courageous first step towards finding the right therapist to help you, your child, or your teen. This is a hard step to take and I commend you on your bravery and willingness to seek help!

The work we do together may involve attending to attachment, behavioral problems, emotional regulation, social skills issues, social integration and daily functional regulation (sleeping, eating, etc.)

Hyper Sensitivity

Gifted Children often experience the world with heightened and vivid intensities that can lead to overwhelming emotions and worrisome and unacceptable behaviors

Hyper activity, inability to focus, Similar symptoms to ADHD or Autism

Your child may talk a lot, have high levels of energy, and be impulsive or inattentive or distractible in some settings. Some also have unusual all-consuming interests pointing to inappropriate diagnosis of Autism

Struggling Socially

You or your child may have a tough time making friends or interacting with other kids

Difficulties managing strong emotions

You or your child may have meltdowns over minor issues, rages, or apathy, no energy

Perfectionism

Often Gifted Children or Adults are perfectionist that affect their ability to function. their attempts to do perfect work can lead to a point that leads to heightened Anxiety, Depression and sometimes Self-Harm.

Under achievement

Gifted Children often underachieve at school to fit in, or because of a learning disability like Dyslexia, or because of slow processing speed

Prevention

At various developmental milestone check points, it is appropriate to seek out assistance to check out how your child is working through his/her Giftedness. I provide these preventative services to help you anticipate possible upcoming problems and address them early
